Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

"Don't Stand At My Grave And Weep"

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Mary Elizabeth Frye: Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep (Libera)

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.

When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlighted night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep - K. Jenkins

Il en existe plusieurs versions. La plus ancienne est :

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

千の風になって (sen no kaze ni natte) is the biggest hit
song in 2007 and the first No.1 ranked song performed
by a classical music singer.

The lyrics of this song are the translation of well known
English poem "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep".

Japanese singer-songwriter 新井 満 (Man Arai) translated
this poem into Japanese and composed the song. Tenor
(Masafumi Akikawa) made the song
popular after performing it during the biggest year-end
song festival on 31 December 2006.

This song is popular not only at the Karaoke places but
also at the funeral. As in the West, the lyrics of this song
have relieved grief and pain of many Japanese who have
lost the loved ones.

Mairead Farrell - Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

The Wolf Tones-You'll Never Beat the Irish

In eleven sixty-seven, they came to Ireland on the make
They were followed by invasions and by conquests in their wake
The Kings and Queens of England made the land a battleground
They took the land by fraud, defeat; by murder, poison, and deceit!

Murder, plunder fallaballa, clear the way
Cheating, stealing, diddly-idel-day
Ducking, diving, fallaballa, clear the way
Diddly-aidel-doh, diddly-aidel-day

Then by the fifteenth century they held precariously to the Pale
The invaders were more Irish than the Irish, that's the tale
A fat greedy king (called Henry)'s dick was bigger than his brain
Imposed a reformation- confiscating usurpation!

You'll never beat the Irish, no matter what you do
You can put us down and keep us out, but we'll come back again
You know we are the fighting Irish and we'll fight until the end
You know, you should have known: You'll never beat the Irish

The virgin Queen, Elizabeth, brought more turmoil to our land
She decimated Munster, scorched the earth and all at hand
Then James the first and Charles the Mad brought out other greedy bands
They took the land of Ulster, killed their Chieftains- poisoned, plundered!

Murder, plunder fallaballa, clear the way
Cheating, stealing, diddly-idel-day
Ducking, diving, fallaballa, clear the way
Diddly-aidel-doh, diddly-aidel-day

Joni James - Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms

                        I.

BELIEVE me, if all those endearing young charms,

Which I gaze on so fondly to-day,

Were to change by to-morrow, and fleet in my arms,

        Like fairy-gifts, fading away!

Thou wouldst still be ador'd as this moment thou art,

        Let thy loveliness fade as it will;

And, around the dear ruin, each wish of my heart

        Would entwine itself verdantly still!

                        II.

It is not while beauty and youth are thine own,

And thy cheeks unprofan'd by a tear,

That the fervour and faith of a soul can be known,

To which time will but make thee more dear!

Oh! the heart, that has truly lov'd, never forgets,

        But as truly loves on to the close;

As the sun-flower turns on her god, when he sets,

The same look which she turn'd when he rose!

Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms

Believe Me, If All Those Endearing
Young Charms) 《

 1. Believe me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly today,
Were to change by tomorrow and fleet in my arms,
Like fairy gifts fading away,
Thou wouldst still be adored as this moment thou
art,  Let thy loveliness fade as it will.  And around the
dear ruin each wish of my heart  Would entwine itself
verdantly still.

Tennessee Waltz
I was dancing with my darling to the Tennessee Waltz
When an old friend I happened to see.
I introduced her to my loved one
And while they were dancing
My friend stole my sweetheart from me.

I remember the night and the Tennessee Waltz
Now I know just how much I have lost
Yes, I lost my little darling the night they were playing
The beautiful Tennessee Waltz.

Mon amie m'a volé mon amour.

  Celtic Woman - Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

T'was grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come
T'was grace that brought us safe thus far
And grace will lead us home
And grace will lead us home

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

Was blind but now I, I see

"The Call"

Sometimes in this life we hear
Calling from somewhere
Sometimes it is loud and clear
Sometimes it's so softly there

Sometimes it is in the sea
Sometimes in the sky
Sometimes it's in you and me
Sometimes it's a cry

Open your heart
I am calling you
Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Sometimes it is in desire
Or in the love we fear
When the call keeps calling us
'Till the fear will disappear

When we have no dance to dance
The call is in a song
When we have no voice to sing
Then the call is calling strong

Open your heart
I am calling you
Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Open your heart
I am calling you
Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Open your heart, your heart
And you will find the answer
To the Call!
